Operation Granby 1982 Widewake Ascension Island 55 and 57 Sdn aka 112MRV Sdn

I am trying to research the way these Squadrons worked during the above Operation. Both Squadrons were very experienced in working from a variety of airfields in many different countries over the period they were operating Victor Tankers both the Mk1 and 2 versions. This is an untold story about working 12hrs on and 12hrs off for long time far away from the UK . If you were there and on 55 or 57 I would like to hear from you .

Many thanks
Roger Brooks Victor Tanker ASC(Crew chief)

This thread should read Operation Corporate Not Granby Brain not quite up to speed.

Wrong operation.

[QUOTE=Binbrook 01;2195838]Small thing to correct.

Granby was the Operation that later became the first in a recent long line of attempts to sort Iraq out

The Falklands was Op Corporate

Many thanks for the correction got the wrong Operation don’t know why

How can I correct it please.

Thanks

I appreciate that Jon and NAM can try to help if possible. 😉

The old website is still live http://www.vforcereunion.co.uk but I’m not sure for how much longer. The 2016 gathering will be a ‘NAM organised do’ as the former V-Force Team have stood themselves down after four successful events. Emails to that effect have been circulated but we still have to establish how NAM takes over the ‘communication-side’ of things as there are a few minor data protection issues that have to be considered.
