Original WW2 airfield signage

Had to share these two signs we found at RAF Riccall in Yorkshire, they are in the gym and chancel. The gym’s on private land and the signs are inside, permission to view must be sought. These are be the best we’ve seen yet, anyone got any more?

What a great idea for a thread. Here’s a few of mine, all picked up at aerojumbles:-

CO’s Crew Only. No idea where this originated from sadly. Looks as though it’s intended to hang in a corridor, near stairs?

Mirror from the Officer’s Mess of 101 Squadron. Looks to be 1920-1940s? Apologies for the poor quality of photo.

Notice Board from R.A.F. Middleton St. George, with a couple of the girls alongside to give scale.

I also had one of the Station signs from the gate at Binbrook, but passed this on to a Lightning freak. 😀

Bah! Only YOU could have a mossie (?) AND fury (?) control columns nonchalantly propped up AGAINST the sign! 🙂

A few pics from our museum –

Door and Crew room sign saved from RAF Hinton in the Hedges
‘G’ Air raid shelter sign from Sywell, liberated by my Dad in the 60s!

Not exactly from an airfield – this is inside the Vickers-Armstrong air raid shelter at Brooklands (NOT at the museum …)
