Hi There
Yep $20K would have been a good investment – I probably could have bought the Bearcats for $100USD at the time -getting them home however especially with two broken legs would have been an adventure…………………….?
Like to catch up with you some time
Kindest regards

A-1’s
Then there were the four flying A-1’s parked in Thailand that I was offered in 1975by Gen Heine Aderholt for $20K 🙁 – the lot…didn’t have 20 bucks then..

Hi
Thanks for that – any choice you make will look fine I’m sure – Bearcat is interesting – only a limited number of people here it could be I suppose – I’ve seen them in the US and the one in the UK – very dramatic aircraft in the air and on the ground – the article doesn’t give the timing but I got the general idea it was going to be soon.
When I was in Vietnam I saw 4 of them abandoned – after 30+ years I don’t suppose there are any of those left but who knows.

I hear an ex-Forest Protection TBM is headed our way [with a Bearcat??]. Don’t know the owner.
I’ve looked into a RN Pac Flt colour scheme. Interesting, but if I do repaint her it may be back as she was born.

Hi Peter
As you know I am fond of the Avenger – it is a great looking aircraft and kept really well.
I know color schemes are a personal thing but when and if you eventually decide to repaint her again have you thought of putting her back in RN colors – perhaps like those she wore in the UK many years ago – looked quite stunning. I love the way she looks now but I was just thinking of her at Duxford all those years ago when I first saw her.
I notice another Avenger is coming to Brisbane – are you involved in that ?
How is your Spitfire project coming on ?
Kindest regards

Hi Oscar
I flew those “over there” very nice they are too – take a little getting used to but nice none the less and a bit safer in action than the 180.
Regards
John
PS recognise this?

Great Shots
Nice one Oscar 🙂 , As a kid my dec father when I asked as one flew over called it a push me pull me :p , Never forgot it, We have two of the type here at Essendon, Make quiet a bit of noise as they take off over my flat, Easy to make out what’s going over 😀 , A few years back there was a larger red one I would watch take off most mornings, Then hear it come back latter, Except one beautiful morning it left but never came back 🙁 , Went in at Mt Macendon, Well in to it in low cloud I think, 4/5 killed I think 🙁 , Missed the noise and plane for a while, But as a famous person once said what goes up must come down  , Human error was the main factor here I think, Oh well thats life, Cheers Tally Ho! Phil 😉
