Oshkosh Classics

Well I think they’re classics. Even found a few Chippies (RCAF and RAF colour schemes) in amongst the hundreds of ‘oldies’ there at Oshkosh last week.

And the finish on all the planes without doubt was truly amazing.

I have more.

Enjoy

I think the Bi-plane goes with the second panel shot…I was asking about the first.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, yes it was a Stinson. I’ll have a look when I’m back off my hols to see if I have a piccie.

What plane’s panel is in the first photo?

The EP.9 was exported a couple of years back to NZ I seem to recall.

Ah yes just found my notes on same… They only made 29 of them in total.

“G-APWZ. C/n 42. (She was actually the second built by the Lancashire Aircraft Company.) She was DBR 27 Sept 1970 and cancelled as WFU in 1984 from use passed to MofAF at Middle Wallop and some parts used in the restoration of their example. Sold on she was restored and flew again on 16 May 98 at Durrington in W Sussex. Flown irregularly she was sold to NZ in 2002.”

I believe there is the remains of at least one still in the UK along with the one at Middle Wallop.

Hope that helps

I just noticed the tongue in the last of geedee’s first batch of photos.
That is hysterical. I want one!

You couldn’t really miss the swarm of yellow busses, but I never travelled on one.
Why?

It’ll never fly!

The owner said that there was another one in the U.K. somewhere.
