In a months time Oshkosh will be on again. Actually its now called Airventure but whatever, its still the biggest aviation event on the planet. To whet the appetite here are a few warbird pictures I took last year.

Lovely pics.
So that’s where Short-Fuse Sallee got to! I remember seeing her at Flying Legends 94. Ahh memories! The Vietnam-camo Skyraider also looks the business. I’d like to see Kennet’s example in such a scheme, with the underwing racks and pods as well.

I’ll try to get the props going round this time! (Thanks to Forum members, in particular dodrums, for camera help)

‘nuther one on my list of places to go and visit. Went there on my cross country qualifier some years ago, but it was October, three months after the airshow. I need to go in July…. 😀
Have a great time there, those of you who are going. The little Pioneer airport round the corner from the EAA Museum is well worth a visit, like a mini- Old Warden. 🙂

Oshkosh 2003
I’ll be there again this year! Pity there’s no Vulcan to meet under!
Here are a few of the many pix I took last year – no captions needed, for you dyed-in-the-wool enthusiasts.

Mark V…how about that smaller model of a Corsair that was being displayed alongside Gary Kohs FG-1D…get any pics of that? It was amazing….the judges even asked which plane they were there to judge, the big one or the model? I would post them but my scanner does’nt work…maybe you can show them some of it. It was a great Oshkosh, my second go around….sounds like I’ll do another next year!

Tent space is all I’ve got left, every bed, sofa and inflatable mattress is spoken for!

I live in Oshkosh 🙂
How many tents can you fit in your back yard? 🙂

Oshkosh
Do we have a good group from this forum that will be at Oshkosh? I’ll be hanging around the P51 “Daddy’s Girl” part of the time and then sitting under my 170 flying the Texas flag the rest of the time. Hope to see some new stuff!

Thank you all for the nice comments. All being well I will be back there this year and will take the camera and get some more shots to post here. The photography plays second fiddle to the ‘day job’ which is working in the Mustang area with the warbird line crew so all the shots are taken towards the end of the day or in poor weather!
Y11F – I was playing with the photo framing toy in one of the manipulation programmes to get the ‘feathered edge’ look.
DB – not sure the world is ready for the Mustang polishing shot yet.

Mark V,
Nice shots. I especially like the CA-18, it’s based only about 25 miles from here, and due to perform a fly over at an Independance day parade here in Minnesota this weekend.

Hi Mark,
Great photos. Having just been converted(?) to digital from film, I hope my attempts are as good.

Certainly a nice shiny Mustang at the top of the thread.

Inbound to Oshkosh
Sounds like this will be a good year for new restorations. A couple new Mustangs… I am sure a couple D models and then the TP-51C. Maybe Kermits TP-40N? As always some new vintage stuff as well. A new Ford Trimotor restoration… Oh… and a nice polished 170! Not going to take any awards… but it is a clean one! 😀 Looking forward to sitting under the wing and watching the aviation world go by.

If Mrs Mark V does not reply tonight, it’s probably because she’s logged out and cannot log back in again because she is unaware that Mark V has changed his password from her forename to his favourite aeroplane’s name!

MarkV or Mrs MarkV, was it foggy when the 2nd 51 pic was taken?
By: LN Strike Eagle - 29th June 2004 at 19:02
Mark, that first Mustang shot is lovely. Georgious colours.
Like the angle on the Corsair in the second batch aswell. 😎

This Is Not Mark V
Hi – I’m not Mark V. I’m MRS Mark V.
He’s gone away and left me alone. 😀
He’ll be back tomorrow, so do carry on without him. Damien: You might want to check with him upon his return before posting any pictures of him passionately polishing a Mustang with his posterior!
Now, what shall I do next? Hmm … 🙂

Fuel that you can splash on after shaving? 😀
I think it’s something to do with the additives – leadding or similar. Anyone?
