Oshkosh miscellany

Just back from a 3 week tour of the USA and Canada, which included a couple of highlights I’ll post later. It’s taken me a while to process over 700 pictures!
Nice to be back among friends!
I haven’t had time to caption anything yet, but I’m under pressure from certain folks to put my pix up quickly!
The “Mustang park” at Oshkosh is here, I wonder if it will lose too much resolution to prevent you from identifying the occupants. At least I didn’t fall out of the (Bell 47) helicopter!

Oshkosh

Ah… very nice, Papa Lima! That removed the distraction.

I just added my Oshkosh vintage aircraft page up on my site.

Enjoy….

Great job with Photoshop.

Being from yhe precomputer age, I prefer to move the offending object and replace it afterwards after having taken the photograph. usually, officials won’t object

Modified picture

Try this – with a little cropping and overpainting . . .

109 and Spitfire

Well… the people were all around and I just ran up and made the shot quick! Yes… that was one of the days it was raining so the lighting is bad but it still came out ok. One of these days when I have time I’ll play with a photo progam to fix offending buckets and people. At this time I spend most of my computer time reading these forums and posting pictures on my web site!

When I was shooting pictures of the razorback Mustang I had to make sure I didnt get JDK and Steve in one of my shots! 😀

They both flew (my camera couldn’t really hack it) but not in any “warlike” poses. Rather genteel circuits really but I don’t mind, with such precious airframes.

Great photo – don’t suppose they got up to “mix it” together, did they??

C170BDan, a small tweak with Photoshop would easily remove the offending bucket and tape! Did you wait for the rain shower to get the people out of the way? I had to wait ages to get my uncluttered picture! It looks as if I captured the same bucket anyway! Perhaps buckets are the new trend instead of cones, or would they be the American equivalent perhaps?

109 and Spitfire

This shot I took turned out pretty good… except the bucket and caution tape in the way! Was tempted to move it. Someone doing the parking had the great idea to put them side-by-side or it just worked out that way.

Sorry, folks, I am rather busy at the moment, but here is the missing Spitfire that I forgot to include.
The Buchon picture was taken on the Saturday, 31 July.
I fear it will be the weekend before my highlights can appear, but they are worth waiting for, as Stieglitz knows!

So I don’t need the neon then?

Thanks for sharing Papa Lima. Lovely stuff. When was the Buchon there? I missed it. 🙁

What, not Spits?! 😮

You can’t win them all Daz! I hope you can survive this shock.

Good Luck,

J.V.

Still, Harold Kindsvater’s lovely Buchon makes up for it… 😉

I was also on the trip , and believe me , you ain’t seen nothing yet !

I won’t steal Papa Lima’s thunder by revealing what his ‘highlights’ are , but they are worth waiting for !

Silence is golden! 😉 The best is yet to come. But give Papa Lima the time he needs. Otherwise he could get overstressed.

This has been a nice first report of your trip PL. That Super Corsair seems to be a real beast.

Super!

Nice shots, especially the Beast. When I saw the SB2C for the first time(the weekend prior to Oshkosh), it only made two passes both with the guns stowed before landing. After arrival, it stayed firmly on the ground untill it departed for Oshkosh.
