I’m sure the Webmaster won’t mind me asking everyone if anyone knows of any other old aeroplane forums out there, particularly any English boards based overseas.
I’m not meaning to show disloyalty, but looking at Whiskey Deltas pics on this forum tonight reminded me that there could be some really good flypast equivalant boards out there for us to check out.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the German Flugzeugforum (www.flugzeugforum.de). Obviously, some knowledge of German is required but postings can be made in English too. It covers all aspects of aviation, with airshows and modelling being the most popular subjects. Open to all enthusiaists and very friendly atmosphere. Entertainingly broad mixture of participants from (incredibly knowledgeable) teenagers over expert modellers to Luftwaffe aircrew (one of the moderators is a Marine Tornado pilot). Flugzeugforum participants also meet up regularly at airshows all over Europe (one German military airshow even announced the meeting point over the PY) and at modelling exhibitions.

Spritual home… never really thought much about that, but I guess it’s a good description. I certainly think we’re all amongst friends here, even despite the odd fracas… 😉
As for other boards, Warbirds Resource Group has already been mentioned. Paul Coggan’s www.warbirdindex.com has a forum, but it’s not really taken off (if you’ll pardon the pun.
www.pprune.org also has a selection of boards, one of which is specifically for Aviation History and Nostalgia. There have been some real gems on there, not least of which was Seafuryfan’s request for pilot’s stories from the making of Battle of Britain.

And Moggy…what kind of trolls are we talking here? Green knobbly wrinkly ugly types, or the 14 year old txtspk “duz ne 1 wnt 2 tlk 2 me” type? :p

Well I monitor the truly dreadful Touchdown board.
That really is a bit bombastic of me, as I’m sure the guys who populate the board get an immense out of it.
It is just that I can’t get a handle on why anybody would want to know the serial number of the dot on the end of a contrail passing over Manchester three saturdays back at about 11.30.
Or to rush down to Mildenhall to see a particular C130 land and park amongst a row of twenty three identical C130s that have been there all day.
So why do I subscribe? Simple. When they are all clustering around the field edges as I pass on my way to work I can eventually find out what they are all waiting for. This week it was the arrival of 10 F16s. Very pretty.
Then there’s Wings over Warwickshire. Some good stuff here, but dreadfully outweighed by information and pictures I do not need about Robinson R22s.
The Fora run by a rival magazine to Today’s Pilot that shall be nameless but begins with F takes up some of my time, though a recent troll infestation has reduced its attractiveness.
And the 388th bit of the US Air Forces Forum. Slow moving, but interesting.
