Other Work at MAM

For info –

The F-4 is undergoing a rather detailed and painstaking make-over at the moment. Of course it’s not being worked on every day (Martin’s got other things on his mind though including a day-job 😉 ), but it’s slowly getting there and will be to MAM’s usual high standard when completed.

Also, the volunteer who looks after the Beaver has completed the external re-paint, looks good in my opinion. I only found out recently that MAM’s website guest book contains an entry from a bloke who used to fly their Beaver in Berlin on wall-watch. To me, it’s these little connections that make it all worthwhile I guess.

Keep up the good work Martin.

Are you going to put the details under the mig kill like they used to do, or just leave it as a red star?

Also did you manage to sort out the radome?

To my shame i need to come back up and have a look, but it won’t be for a little while as i have August tied up on other things.

I had a good wander around the Beaver yesterday Les and she really is looking lovely.

The Phantom is getting there slowly. Like Les says Im incredibly dedicated to my full time job  so unfortunately I can only work on her at weekends but she is getting there.

Luckily I’ve had occasional help from a couple of other museum members to get her where she is now, Mark, Andrew, Dan & Rob at some point have all had a roller or a bit of wet n dry thrust into their hands. Mention must also go to Lester who is presently doing some skin work to repair some nasty damage inflicted upon the airframe during her BDR days.

Yes she is staying in the Mig Killer colour scheme John, she had to really as historically its the most interesting part of her carear. Hopefully we can get it a little more accurate this time round and include a few details inc badges that weren’t applied to her last time she was painted.

Is the F4 going to stay in its Mig Killing markings?….

The work you all put in is amazing!
