Just finished the third in the collection – the first model shows our aircraft in the markings she wore in combat over Algeria, the second is her in crashed ‘Zero’ guise in Empire of the Sun and the third, sans buzz numbers at the moment is what she will look like when restored (with smaller checks on the cowl – they are 1/72 models, I did my best)
With the ‘Zero’ modelling it makes you realise quite how much work was required, even for a crash scene, note remodelled fin, installed cowl mgs and ‘high back’ config over rear cockpit…
Anyway thought some of you may be interested, apologies for standard of modelling, i was in the lavvy when God was dishing out talent…

heh heh – try turning a T-6 into a Zero mate that’ll make you scratch your head but you get to appreciate the amount of work done by the torax3 boys….
Thought my next one could be a 48th model of a Torax3 zero – ie a model of the T-6 hybrid, dont think anyones done that before!

Airfix do a 72nd Harvard but its a bit dated
Heller do a nice 72nd T-6G Texan with underwing armament (shown here)
Testors also do an SNJ
The best by far is the Academy kit which is quite new – pin sharp detail (two here)in 1/48
Hobbycraft, Heller, Monogram/Revell and the great Occidental kits…There is a 1/24 vacform (talking to Dave T about this ) which we both saw for the first time on ebay and rumours of a new 1/32 kit….
Hope that helps – the academy one is less than a fiver and a pretty decent built…

There’s a few then?! I guess I should look more carefully in Wonderland Models from now on…!

Nice work. I’ve not seen too many T-6s around at all!

Very nice – who makes a kit of a Harvard in 1/72? Never seen one before, would be interested in one though. Interesting idea, i started making four models showing the evolution of a german torpedo boat – later Polish gunboat, the first ship to be sank in WW2, but didn’t have enough time.
