Looks like limiting it to air-to-air may be too narrow so let’s just say of any type. It doesn’t have to have gone to hardware but it at least had to be part of a study. Here’s a few that come to mind:

I-5 – Part of a study for Boost Phase Interceptors included this monster. It would have weighed some 66 tons and gone from zero to about Mach 34 (almost escape velocity) in 45 seconds. It’s motor would have produced almost 2 million pounds of thrust at launch. By comparison each solid booster on the latest Titan IVB produced about 1.7 million lbs. Here’s a link to the report.
