Overdesigned aircraft thread

Scott had a thread on stupid decisions and pointless aircraft. So how about something somewhat similar..

aircraft that are over designed.. meaning it’s makers (or politicians) put too much capability into an aircraft that doesn’t really need it, the entire aircraft itself, etc.

now don’t turn this into a flame fest, you know who you are 😉

Su-39: An aircraft based on CAS is should hardly need all the anti-shipping and bvr capabilities being put onto this thing, leave that to the Fulcrums and Flankers, unless you intend to make the Su-39 your sole multi role fighter..which in that case the guy in charge should be head butted and shoved into a meat grinder.

LCA: For an air force that needs to replace large numbers of MiG-21, it needs something simple, cheap and quick to be mass produced. I’m sorry to offend some nationalistic posters, but ADA should’ve produced something simple like the FC-1. But i will admit, it is very ambitous and important for the industry.

Su-30MKM/MKI: Canards and TVC, a bit redudnant, don’t yall think so? over designed for agility.
