7.20 this morning a large high wing T tail Four Gas turbine engined aircraft flew over the Trowbridge ( Wiltshire ) area from East to West at about 10k.
Did not get a good look as it was out to the west when I saw it. Should have gone ot and looked earlier.
Anyone have any idea what it was ? I thought it was a Starlifter? Are any of those flying in the UK any more ?
Regards
Mark

A C-5 departed Brize this morning according to Fighter Control.

Thanks Guys but defo not a C17. Far to gangly, long wings and long thin Fuse ? Sound was all wrong for a C17 too.

Yep I’d agree. Sadly no Starlifters left flying anywhere now.

Mark,
Almost certainly a RAF C17 to/from Brize Norton. C141 is no longer in service and unlikely to be a C5/Il-76 at that altitude over Wiltshire!
