Thanks Gaurav that’s excellent. The reason for my curiosity is that this approach is so different to the norm and one that is well worth investigating by others.

Sorry. But I have mentioned in previous posts how I have got to the avitaion college. And to be honest I hate typing. Anyway what would you like to have answered??

Actually I have just read your post. Initially I had no hopes to go to Oxford. So I applied to Manchester to do aviation. I had to do two tests. In Maths and Physics. Both were 1 ht 15 minutes. I got 75 out of 75 for both papers. Then I got a letter of UCAS saying the Oxford Aviation college wre looking for more ethnic minorities. And advised me to apply. I did. My money sources were shere luck. LEA sponsered me and Man uni because I am still doint there physics course. BOA as I mentioned before sponsered me, cuz ofa medal I won ages ago.

Gaurav, can you give us a bit more info in response to these questions as it might help someone else on here get started.

Wow, that’s pretty good getting 3/4 of the costs sponsored by non-aviation bodies (by the way what does BOA stand for?). I have never heard of this sort of sponsoring before. Was it difficult to get? Did you have the idea or did they? This is a pretty interesting concept for some of the other guys round here to look into.

Make sure you keep giving us updates on how you are doing.

So are you a sponsored cadet or are you paying your own way? It’s dificult to define from your post at what point you are starting. Are you starting from scratch or are you assumed to be PPL standard, etc? What day do you start or have you started already?

Gaurav, am I right in saying that you already have some flying experience or are you starting from scratch? Don’t forget to ask if you need any help.

Which colledge do you attend?

Have fun at the Oxford Union, their chamber is the greatest. Two years ago I had the pleasure of speaking there.
