Guys…Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Oxfordshire Aviation Group will be holding it’s first meeting of 2009 on Jan 12th,with a presentation on 101 Sqn,RAF Brize Norton and the VC10 aircraft as used in the air-to-air refuelling role
Venue for OAG meetings is the Marlborough Club,Broadway,DIDCOT with meetings “technically” starting at 1930hrs with a hand-over to the speaker at 2000hrs(having said that,I’m usually on-site from appx 1900hrs)
You’re all more than welcome to visit on 12th Jan and if you feel so inclined to join OAG then subs will be just £12 covering the twelve monthly meetings of 2009 plus a quarterly newsletter
Other presentations in the first half of 2009 include Peter Vacher discussing the recovery and restoration of his Hurricane(G-HUPW/R4118),a talk on the Pooleys Dawn-to-Dusk light aviation competition(with a military bias…the speaker is Steve Bridgewater who flew fis Cessna to as many Spitifre related airfeilds as poss for his entry),the story of RAF Fairford during WW2,and the art of collecting and restoring aircraft for museum display(emphasis on Newark Air Museum)
2nd half of 2009 has some as-yet unconfirmed speakers,so watch this space
