P-39L 'Pantie Bandit'

Hi, I’m wondering if anyone has any information on a P-39L called ‘The Pantie Bandit’ that served in Tunisia with the 93rd fighter squadron of the 81st fighter group, USAAF, circa 1943?

It’s profile is depicted in American Warplanes of World War Two and I’ve been curious about on and off for so long that I’ve finally decided to try and find out a bit more about it.
