IIRC, the original wings for AK803 were cut off outboard of the mains, and the wing was replaced later with a complete unit (as per the Warbird Registry info).
I’ve always wondered what happened to the original (cut) set? I am sure that there are a few companies here & abroad that nowadays would be interested in bringing them back to life and putting them on an airframe.

Thanks for the plug and for the kind words about the site. I’ve concentrated mostly on the ‘Survivors’ section and the rest of the site is actually quite bare at the moment. If only I could spend more time on it… little by little though…
