P-47 component identification

Can anyone tell me what is the function of this electric motor belonged to a P-47 crashed in Italy during the War?

It’s marked R.H. so I would assume it’s one of a pair. Flap drive motor? Undercarriage bay door drive motor?

Hi Canada TD,
Thanks for your hypothesis, but I think it is an electrical actuator, but I don’t Know what is its purpose.
The 1-part is a reduction-gear.
To the points 2 and 3 were connected two switches for interruption and (or) inversion of rotation.
The lenght of motor is 22cm (8.5 inch).
Excuse me for my bad english, I hope it is comprehensible.

Looks like a the unit used to measure engine rpm by converting rotational movement of the crankshaft into an electrical signal to feed the engine tacho…
