Hy guys, hope you all had a merry christmas and a good step into the new year. Have another research question for the “specialists” in this forum:
Started a 1/32 Jug, will be Mayos “No gut´s, no glory” wich is also flying in Duxford. Because of there are no aftermarket decals for this bird I have to do them by hand . CHeckerboards will be no problem, also not the “no guts, no glory”, but what makes me nearly mad is the yellow patch above the words. I know that there are the names of pilot, crew chief and armourer, but what are they exactly:
Anybody outthere who know the names on this yellow patch, eventually a good photo where they can be seen?
Thanx for your help, here´s a little thanx to this forum, my latest work, finished last week and the first one of a “5-bird-bubbletop-silver-Jug” project for a special collection.
cheers
Chris

Colouring cutaway edges red is I think a very old tradition dating back to the time long before plastic modelling, when drawings and sectioned metal equipment used that colour to clearly define edges that were not normally cut.

stick around indeed, its historic aviation in a round about way.
great model, question though, why do all modellers seem to paint the rim of the cutaway, red?

This is seriously good!
You tackle natural metal like — natural.
Please “hang around”.

Awesome p-47d i find your work great!
That must be a lot of work building something nice from the revell kit.
Maybe you can build a 1/32 P-38 with some scratchbuilding there are a lot of recearch photo’s for you on the web.
I found another version of p-47d no guts no glory but it’s camouflaged link for the decalset in 1/48 scale: http://m2reviews.cnsi.net/scotts/decals/super/ss48879.htm
