Link opened ok aircraft was P-47D 42-74652 coded HL:K bar under of the 83 FS,78th Fighter Group from Duxford flown by 2/Lt Kenneth Hindersinn. On 5/1/44 this aircraft was bounced by FW 190s in the Nantes area and shot down the pilot becoming a POW. Article says aircraft remains was found on a farm in Gourbesville near Cherbourg.
