P-47G Snafu a thank you to The Fighter Collection

With Snafu possibly leaving UK shores soon I thought I would by way of a tribute and as a thank you to The Fighter Collection for bringing this lovely aircraft to life for us to see.

The last I was aware the Beau had already been sold so if she was completed as a MkII I doubt she would be here for long as I heard it was an overseas buyer (at a rough guess I’d say the USA seems a likely bet)

Yes please,I was at Duxford yesterday and she is still tucked away in the corner of the hangar.I’m guessing there is no progress finding a pair of suitable Hercules engines.Could she be completed as a Mk II with Merlins.

Will be sad to see it leave Duxford, but at least we will be seeing some newly restored classics in the near future.
What will TFC be working on next I wonder? Would be nice to see the Hellcat fully airworthy again.

Martin

Not forgetting the Fiat CR-42, anyone know how that is progressing?

Well apart from ARC with the magnificent Blenheim rebuild, it would be nice to see that Firefly restored to flight. Could that be done I wonder? It would be fantastic to see that Hellcat back in the air as well. Isn’t there another Griffon engined Spitfire waiting to be assembled?

Where has SNAFU finally ended up? Has she flown since leaving Duxford?

Lobster

Not unless she has escaped without being noticed from the containers that are still at DX !!!
