From what I can recall last year there was a post confirming that MHs daughter was now checked out (ie can now fly) the Mustang therefore it would be nice to see Dad and daughter flying in formation – not sarcastic- a statement!!!
TT
it was the yak 3 comment i was meaning.
but i taxiied the mustang around last year, nothing was mentioned about actually flying her…yet…

is Eyetech just a company name to enable him to work on his ‘Toys’ full time, then?
I don’t think you could over-estimate the level of specialist engineering support Eyetech offers other operators, from the smallest item to a complete Merlin re-build. The quality of their products is second to none.

No, Eyetech is an engineering business in its own right.
I guess you need an amazing amount of drive and skill to build up a collection such as this.

If you count building the jigs, building the airframe, fitting out the airframe, painting the airframe, wiring the aircraft and building the engine then yes. This of course is after having restored another P51, a Harvard, Cessna 172 and building a Laser 230 and Skybolt etc……..
Oh…. and financing it all as well…..

Great looking aircraft and I can’t wait to see her flying.
You can’t beat the sound of a Mustang, the best in my opinion.

wow!!! its looking amazing! Another p51 for the display circuit next year can’t be a bad thing! Will Mr Hammond be displaying them as a pair(obviouslly not on his own!!).
Or if he sources another pilot…any ideas yak11??
By: Tailspin - 7th May 2008 at 12:28
Excellent stuff.

By: Yak 11 Fan - 7th May 2008 at 12:02
That I guess will depend somewhat on whether display organisers book them as a pair.

The latest P-51 looks like another superb restoration. Well done to all involved.
