Ben, hate to be devil’s advocate, but

did you ask PW before breaking this nugget of news?

You may well have done, and I don’t wish to spoil the fun, but this is PW’s private business.

Don’t be too sad – its with one of the best Mustang restorers in the US. The result will be stunning.

Mustang parts…

Does anyone have contact information on the spare parts you are talking about? We are looking for some NAA rudder pedals and other cockpit components for our Mustang project.

Thanks for any help on contact information!

Cheers Mike,

Chris – am not sure but will try and find out-

Mark – essentially it was a cockpit section purchased from a Museum in the states about 3-4years ago – it had been buggered about with to enable Museum visitors to stick their heads in the cockpit from underneath to get the ‘fighter experience’ or some such rubbish – the side skinning retained some of the NZAF yellow and black chequerboard markings, that said it was still a P-51 with an identity, Phil did acquire a great deal of items for it – last i saw he was restringing the rear section, we sprayed the turtle deck for him, had a very nice Cavalier Hood.

If i were you Chris I’d get MH to call him, after he sold his SNJ he kept a great number of T-6 parts which we bought later on, it maybe the same with the Mustang. As you know there is are many parts common to both aircraft eg rudder pedals, tailwheel etc -coincidentally we have just come across a spare pair of nice NAA cast ones if MH needs a set for Janie2 few other bits too kicking about
