P-51B Wreckage with Essex Aviation Group when at Duxford

When the Essex Aviation Group had the hut at Duxford (ok I am old enough to remember that little treasure trove) they had the wreckage of a Merlin from a P-51B which they recovered which is listed as ‘P-51B Crashed Lawling Hall August 1944’

see Living archaeology Richard A. Gould – Page 231 – 1980

Can anyone ID this aircraft and give the exact loss date?

Thanks
Paul
