P-51D Mustang G-HAEC

From memory it once wore a 3Sqn scheme similar to it’s sister ship A68-170 now flyninf with the RAAF museum at point cook.

It was, indeed, in an RAAF Silver scheme.

I thought it was Old Crow in the RAF scheme at Mildenhall. When origionally imported it was in a camo Australian scheme. G-HAEC was also spotted briefly in Saving Private Ryan.

I think it was around 1997/8 that Rob Davies got her…

This is a bit wrong. I don’t do numbers, but G-HAEC (for Hong Kong Aero Engineering Co) and not ‘ – present’. (Don’t know the date of sale though…)

“Ding Hao” in Memphis Belle, “Missy Wong from Hong Kong” in Empire of the Sun – I think. There were some lovely pictures of the aircraft wearing its ‘Empire…’ scheme in an early Warbirds Worldwide… perhaps someone on the forum remembers, mine are all boxed in the attic at the moment. It also wore a RAF scheme at Mildenhall one year, and an Australian all-over ‘silver’ scheme… sorry I can’t be more precise.
