Please can anyone confirm the identity of the Spitfire that was exhibited inside P & A Wood’s car showroom at Great Easton in 1998.
I have AR614 and TD248.
Thanks

I guess the photo I linked to is misdated.

Yep, TD248 in her red and silver Cross of Lorraine scheme. I’ll be honest – I think it suited here much better than the camo scheme, there’s lots of camo spits, but that was special!

Thanks for clarification Bruce

The answer is both – AR614 first – courtesy of Hawker Restorations; TD248 was placed there by Historic Flying.
1998 sounds about right for ‘248 – 614 would have been placed there just before the sale to Paul Allen/FHC.

After a few seconds googling “AR614 car showroom” I found a stock photo of her at P&A dated 11 August 1998:

I seem to remember it was TD248 displayed in the showroom in her old silver and red scheme.

I thought it was a Hurricane

Was it a real Spitfire or just a mock-up? I seem to remember a mockup being displayed at at least one other car showroom.
