No idea why the PC thread was closed to be perfectly honest with you so feel free to comment.
Maybe I should go read the rules on what is acceptable to say and what is not acceptable. I have been part of the forum for too many years and must admit I havent read the rules in a while.
I fully support our moderators and the fact that swearing as a whole is not accepted on a family friendly forum. We all know and accept this.
I wonder if it was anything in my posts that prompted the thread to be closed.
Please feel free to outline why and where and then feel free to delete/close this thread.
Now back to the topic at hand.
What does PC mean in terms of actual law.
We know that it is not P.C. to be racist. While the majority of us humans are all a little bit racist we mean no harm by it. I would never be knowingly racist to cause distress or to abuse someone but within being myself and how I was brought up and by modern standards I am racist when it comes to going to the corner shop or to a chinese restraunt.
This does not make me a bad person or indeed in the wrong its just PC rules made up by someone reacting to a situation that could possibly arise.
Now add that PC rule to a female point of view and you have PC being stupid. Yes women should not be abusive or sexually harressed in any shape or form but a little old guy calling a woman in the street Love or Darling is exactly the same but depending on each persons point of view its either right or wrong.
And so the examples go on. I have not really heard of many instances where a Male has used PC to enforce a rule against a female. I suppose we have all heard of the sexual harrasment cases now and then but how much of that is true or is it being blown out of proportion. I guess unless we are party to a harrasment case ourselves we may never know.
So can anyone really say or come up with the facts of what PC actually is or is it just a set of unwritten rules and ideas and two words used to explain these.
Politically Correct what does this mean in terms of actual law.
Or is it the same as using the words Spin Doctor. This was never a term until poloticians started using it. Or was it the media that started using it.
Oh and Kabir I didnt actually swear in my post on the first PC post I was merely pointing out that some of the PC dicussion was a load of old rugby and foot balls. All different shapes and sizes of opinions.
But I suspect you took it as something else.

Linc, I am all for a quality discussion on what PC is and the relevance of it to everyday life. But this thread and the one before have reached new heights (depths) of pointlessness and wanderings as Three Spools so effectively pointed out.
I can see no point to it, I can see no interest in it, and yet I have to read every post.
That’s not bitterness Linc, it is just annoyance. I have better things to do with the finite stock of days remaining to me.
Hence I’m off to look at another aeroplane tomorrow 🙂

Moggy, I hate to say it, but you do seem to be a bit bitter of late with some of your caustic remarks, the PC 1 Post, I see nothing wrong in a group of guys of having a good laugh. Apologise if we created more work for you by having to read it.And even more so to have to voice your opinion on it.;) And as I am not a 100% P.C. person, doe’s that make me a Moron, as you stated in your Post regarding folks who do are?.

Politically Correct actually means in the sense of British law
It has no standing in British Law.
It is an abstract concept invented by journalists and the chatterati. As such it can mean whatever the moronic user of the phrase wants it to mean.
(Wondering why on earth we needed PC2 when PC1 was such a tedious waste of time and reflects once again on the unhappy lot of the moderator who is duty-bound to read this rubbish)

Scott, Personaly I would like to see it carry on, as I have stated on PC 1, I think there is mileage left.

Who made you master and commander to what we can and cannot say on any particular thread.
Does each topic need to have an single thread dedicated to it discussion?
I am sure that a general discussion forum can be exactly that and indeed each thread can evolve from one subject to another easily without the need to stay on topic.
Is it just me or do some people just always have to have order or their brain turns to jelly.

KabirT Thanks for your reply. I could name a few members on here that use the forum as that is their only way to keep in touch with the outside world, yes, things do get out of hand and get silly on the G.D. Posts sometimes, and I, sometimes forget the CofC, as the other day re Anniversary.But it’s mainly good clean fun. not suited for those who have no sense of humour, and despite what you say, I know you have one also.
Thanks for keeping the PC2 post open, for Merlins sake if nothing else,

Sorry for asking Kabir and on that note thanks for pointing out that we can PM you or other mods for this reason if we feel its required.
It just came to an abrupt end and I felt that I still had somewhere to go with it.
I accept and support the mods of this forum and their reasons fully without question.
Thank you for doing the job that I would not like to do myself. Well not now anyhow. I would have at one point but not now.
