Kirmington — they dont look hard to trace…..(with a name like that!)
Looks to me that William P Peedell married a Eva A Foulston in 1941 and had 3 or 4 kids (Terence listed 2x so there may have been an early infant death)
Terence M,Tina M and Trudy born in 1942 /1945/1948/1951 all in Doncaster.

…now let facebook be your friend and insert Terence Peedell in the search box……and there is only one…and he studied in Doncaster.
Of course I could be wrong!

Where’s Paul Macmillan when you need him

.. his base is listed as “RAF Wroughton” of which there was a RAF hospital!

Wroughton at that time was home to 15 Maintenance Unit.

The ‘late’ death registration will have been because of a delay before an inquest. If an inquest is held then a death certificate cannot be issued until proceedings have finished.

Where’s Paul Macmillan when you need him

Don’t know where he is but Paul McMillan can’t find a crash either

His death was registered in Marborough in Qtr 2 1966 but his death is on 3rd Jan 1966 – Can’t see a crash to fit. Earliest one is 5th Jan 1966 however his base is listed as “RAF Wroughton” of which there was a RAF hospital! So maybe died as a result of earlier incident

There’s a lot for Flight Lieutenant William Patrick Peedell (service number 161598) in the archives of the London Gazette. The AFC seems to have been awarded in 1951 but there is no citation for it. There are mentions of all his other promotions from his commission from Sergeant in 1943 on upwards. He was also awarded in a New Year’s Honours List the Queen’s Commendation for valuable service in the air. here’s the link to the first of two pages of London Gazette results for your man.

http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues/1939-01-01;1968-12-31/exact=161598/start=1

The Armed Forces Memorial Roll of Honour page confirms a date of death of 3rd January 1966 but gives no unit for him other than RAF Wroughton. It confirms a few other personal details so I’ll add it here in case it helps any.

http://www.veterans-uk.info/afm2/roll-of-honour.php?SerialNo=R7042

I can’t find any record of an air crash on or before the date in question in which he was involved. Where’s Paul Macmillan when you need him?

Sorry can’t be of any more help.
