Do you know the Spitfires (No 234 Squadron) and Hurricanes (No 238 Squadron) that Bob Doe flew during Battle of Britain?
Osprey Aircraft of the Aces Spitfire Mk I/II shows Spitfire X4036 AZ-D also Bob Doe baled out of his Hurricane P3984 VK-? on October 10th, 1940.
I hope you can help to find his serial numbers and code letters (No 234 & 238 Squadron).

Thank you very much for your answer, I found that painting and you can read that P/O Bob Doe on Spitfire X4036 AZ-D shot down one Bf109 on August 18th, 1940 also he damaged another one.
A long time ago somebody told me that the paintings or aviation art sometimes has not correct information (Code Letters, Serial Numbers).
I hope that somebody help me to know the Spitfires and Hurricanes that P/O Bob Doe flew during the Battle of Britain.

Doesn’t help much, I know, but there’s a fantastic painting of Bob Doe’s Spit, X4036, kicking about somewhere. “August Victory” I think it’s called.
