At or about 15.15. today, I saw a silver P51 Mustang flying from the North to South, over Holbeach, Lincolnshire. This is the first time I have ever seen one flying outside an airshow. Can anyone tell me where it may have been to or come from?. Sorry, but no name or other I.D. visible.

That’s the most reliable way, the database for the search function is quite corrupt. But it does find the ‘Spotted’ thread

Cheers Moggy, I thought it might have been staring me in the face!
To be honest i gave up on the search function when it stopped working. If I want to find anything on this forum I tend to Google it now.:)

Moggy, I have seen the spotted thread from time to time but I can’t spot it now.
Where exactly is it? Is it a question of trawling back though all the pages or is it staring me in the face?

I’m not going to move this now, but if next time you care to wander along to the Historic Forum you will find a long-running thread ‘Spotted’ for just this purpose.

Hi blackbirder. Thanks for that, it would explain everything.
Pushing the bounderies to their very limits, would you happen to know who ownes it and it’s name?.
I guess if you cannot, I may be able to call up one of the Panton Bros, as you will know, own “Just Jane”.
Thanks for taking the time and trouble to reply.:)

mrtotty.
I did wonder re the Historical side of this, so if the Mods think likewise, then by all means please move it. And yes, to me it was exiting, it was flying in low cloud, poor viz, as it was raining at the time, but there was no mistaking the sound of a Merlin, and as the B of B Memorial flight regularly flyes over my house, I thought it may have been the Spit, or Hurricane, I was pleased I was wrong. Why is it I never seem to have my bl**dy camera to hand when I need it?.

How exciting and sorry I can’t offer any answer.
Might you get a better response in the Historic Aviation Forum?
