P51 Displayed at Duxford yesterday -winter blues disappearing

😀 popped into Duxford yesterday and saw the P51 do a lovely display 😀 😀 😀 Thanks to all involved in getting the aircraft airworthy.
I watched a fitter hand pumping the landing gear up on the P47 in the TFC hangar, blimey if you had flown in a long mission and was wounded you would have a job doing that.

That would have been one of them, now safely locked up in her hanger just in case somebody tries to make her live at Duxford 😮
Janie certainly wasn’t around the Oakington area yesterday and as far as I know the Doll was still at Headcorn.

Yes, I believe that OFMC has a empty looking hangar. They should fill it up (if necessary, with planes of other private owners).

Why????????

Wouldn’t the other private owners like to look after their aircraft themselves.

There were two Mustangs out on Sunday practicing for a long season ahead, they looked fantastic. 😀

Nice to hear that OFMC is flying in the UK now that all the attention goes to Wanaka.

They could rush their Corsair back to the UK after its Wanaka display but I think ths is not going to be the case because the Corsair is not booked for any UK ervent this year. 🙁

🙂 I noticed after the P51 had landed ,she was doing ground engine running with the cowlings off, hopefully just fine tuning and general check ups, nothing serious.
Does’nt the OFMC hangar look bare now with no p40,la 9 although the other Spitfire thats just arrived helps a bit TE 184.

Mike…it was OFMC’s ‘Ferocious Frankie’, flown by Nigel Lamb. A most impressive display, just the thing for blowing away the winter blues 🙂
