It’s been reported that a P51 has crashed near La Plata County Airport with the loss of the two occupants :apologetic:

That’s the 3rd time that one has crashed. It was formerly the Chino Cow Killer.

Now confirmed the victims were John Earley, the planeβs owner, and his flying instructor, Michael Schlarb.

Reading between the lines, the paper is inferring that it is the local plane that has crashed. R.I.P.

There is an online article about a P51 based at La Plata, but there is no confirmation it is that example.
