Hi,
just had a silver, yellow tailed P51 Mustang scream over my house and enter the pattern for Blackbush 13:21 today. Anyone know why it’s there? Seemed in a hurry.
Not complaining of course but an unusual sight especially in winter.
Regards,
Ted.

Thanks for the info.
Yes, nothing can have you running from the sink or kicking the cat down the stairs faster than a Merlin overhead!
More so when its fitted to a Hurricane:p

Last year (or possibly the year before) I had all 6 of them!

Hi Ted (hampden98)
So this should be the Mustang you saw
The Titan is in the 55th FG 343rd FS markings of Maj. Edward B. Giller ‘The Millie G’ although with yellow stripe instead of red

Cool! That makes A C47, P51 and the Blades over the house this year. Not bad, not bad at all 🙂
Perhaps we can encourage the Cafe to have reduced rates for Warbirds :diablo:

Yes, I was informed it was Peter in the P51.
By: hampden98 - 18th December 2012 at 09:25
So it was a P51 Mustang then? Sorry but not totally sure who flys what these days 🙂
Would make sense as the Merlin is a very distinctive sound I don’t often mistake.
Only caught a glimpse as it entered the pattern so could be mistaken about the tail but it did have some yellow.

It was Peter Teichman.

Erm……..Why do we need to know?
By: David Burke - 17th December 2012 at 23:24
How about someone ring’s Blackbushe tomorrow and finds out otherwise this could turn into another forum epic saga!

Peter Teichmans P-51 ‘Jumping Jacques’ has a blue tail with a yellow motif if that helps?
By: Jayce - 17th December 2012 at 22:28
Thats not yellow tailed.
Blue and yellow. Or was last time I saw it.

G-TSIM, a Titan 51 has a yellow tail and a V6 Suzuki engine

I may be wrong but I was told it was Peter Teichman.
A colleague of mine flew into Blackbushe at the same time and had a chat with him in the cafe.

8674planes, what makes G-SIJJ home built? Weird comment based upon nothing more than….what?

Wow, what’s the engine. Certainly sounded like a Mustang to me.
It was! (according to G-INFO)
