Rumour on WIX it’s moved from Nordic warbirds to the uk? Any truth in this?

MustangsMustangs has a good photo history of N167F including the RAF markings and my favourite scheme Detroit Miss. Seem to remember Bud Anderson signing the undercarriage leg at Duxford one year as well soon after the Olive Drab was applied

Jack’s other Mustang is “Gentleman Jim”, having been repainted from Glamorous Glen…Great to see so many Mustangs in Europe.

The OFMC Mustang wore Australian markings, Old Crow (N167F) wore RAF markings for a season in the early 90s

Yes, the OFMC example was painted in an British or Austrailian scheme for its first few seasons in the UK back in the 1980’s. I remember seeing it painted as such at a Great Warbirds Air Display at West Malling in about 1985.

I think the OFMC one was painted in RAF markings at one point (if not that, then there definitely WAS one in the UK!)

There are several ‘Old Crow’ P-51s around. The one being discussed here is the former Anders Saether N167F, which has been residing in Europe since the mid-80s.

Jack Roush’s P-51B was originally recovered from a lake in Florida a few years back and restored by Art Teeters in California.

P-51B Old Crow is owned by Jack Roush, whose business and residence is not too far from me here in Michigan, who also owns a P-51D with the same name. Old Crow’s wartime pilot, Bud Anderson, and Jack Roush are good friends.

I’d like to know where his “B” came from. Personally, I prefer the “B” model over the “D.”

Does anyone know, Is it just a brief stop over at Shoreham or will N167Fs be based there?

At one time I remember helping to look after the Mustang, Invader, Vampire and Hunter whilst they were all at North Weald.

Can’t for the life of me remember why they were all there tho.

🙂 Thank you for the reply and nice to see it will be repainted, hopefully something slightly different for a change.

According to an interview with the new owner it will not be USAAF colors at all. Quite refreshing to see something different I feel. I kind of miss G-HAEC in the 3rd Sqn colors it first wore.

Sad to see “Old Crow” go after 25 years in Norway, but new ownership and a new era in old N167Fs life. Very interesting indeed.

Depending on what time you had lunch, I saw the OFMC pair of Spitfire MH 434 and the P-51 recovering to Duxford around that time. I live in North Herts.

I was having lunch at Brighton Marina on yesterday and I thought I saw a Mustang fly over flying from the direction of Shoreham, too hazy to see what it was painted as though.
