PA474 Blyton,Saturday 25th september.

Just got back from 2 days of excellent motorsport at Blyton, and another little event which took place yesterday.

At about 12.20pm,15 minutes ahead of the planned time,,PA474 made it’s presence known to all and sundry,on a rather blustery afternoon.

She approached from the south west, and at first banked around left about 3 miles from the airfield.I thought there was something wrong at first, but a few minutes later, she loomed rather large, about a mile away, heading in our direction. At the moment of the first passing over,we had a race in progress,of highly modified cars, but the Merlins could be heard above all that.

She flew over, and then banked rather steeply to the left, and re-approached.After passing over for the second time, once again, she banked over, and we were treated to a 3rd flypast, from which she went on her way to Grimsby.

I was stood amongst a group of spectators in my official club capacity, and they all said that it was a most wonderful spectacle,as did other people from within my club, who knew I had organised it.I personally, was very moved by the experience.

Ken.
