PA474 test lanc photos

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows the location of any photographs of PA474 when she was being used to test wing sections? I’ve managed to find one here but would be very greatful if people could point me in the direction of more. Does anyone know what colour the prop noses are in that photo? I’m guessing red but I may be wrong!

I’m attempting to make a model of PA474 in that condition for my grandad who was part of the safety crew at the airfield where it was based (he used to pack the parachutes among other things).

Thanks

Robert

Thanks very much, I assumed they were (I’ve seen photographs of spitfires in plain alu with red noses) 😉 best to check these things though!

The spinners were red during her Cranfield days.

You want the ‘Lancaster At Peace’ book from the Linc Lanc Association- some nice pics of 474’s early days, when she used to work for a living!
