Pace Airlines has shut down

A couple of friends work(ed) for Pace Airlines in Greensboro, NC (formerly DBA Hooters Air). Neither had had a paycheck that didn’t bounce for four weeks, and Friday the airline had parked all its (leased) 737s at GSO and the company was shut down. The owner of the airline was under order of Federal Marshalls to pay certain bills by 1700, and they were paid at 1655. Many employees are left out of jobs and owed a substantial amount of money.

So much for private enterprise in the US.
