Interesting – if that is 2 pack he’s using, he wont be feeling too good right now! I’ve used Warnecke and Bohm paint from tins like those, and they were definitely 2 pack!

Bruce

Should he be using at least a face mask?
I dont think that in Scotland we could paint outside with a spray. Would you need no wind and low humidity and what about the surrounding ground would it not be covered in splatters of paint. I presume a proper vetilated paint tent is the best bet.

In fact, it should have been Horst Hannig – take a look here for more details… 🙂

I asked Norbert Hannig about this scheme and he says:

“I didn’t fly an FW.190 A3 and flew only in Biarritz in the Erganzungsgruppe Ost FW.190 A4. So someone made a mix up with aircraft and names.”

Thanks for the info Steve. Judging by the footage of the scheme being chosen, it was taken from a Kagero title on the Fw190…

My pleasure JägerMarty 🙂 I can now even go one step further as one of the members of my forum tells me that it is finished as Oblt. Norberts Hannig’s Fw190A-3, WNr.734 of III./JG 2 in Spring 1943…

That’ll teach me to post without any references! There are a couple of photographic examples of Fw190A’s finished with the full eagles head in “Jagdwaffe, Holding the West” by Wadman & Pegg [Classic, 2003]

Fw190A-2 belonging to Ofw.Ludwig Hartmann, coded “Yellow 2” of 9./JG 2
Fw190A-4 belonging to Oblt,Siegfried Schnell, coded “Yellow 4 + I” also of 9./JG 2.

I’ll check later but that eagle emblem over the exhaust area was used by early 190s in France, looks awesome too

🙂 Nice link Paul… as for the scheme, I’m not by my books at the moment but it looks very much like a JG26 scheme. As for the Focke-Wulf itself, this is a FlugWerk-built Fw190A-8 WNr.990013 and registered F-AZZJ…
