LAST EDITED ON 16-09-01 AT 08:43 PM (GMT)[p] Why’s does America want to use pakistan as a base to conduct strikes on afghanistan considering:
*The umpteen islamic terrorist groups already operating and training there.
*The large no. of afghanis there.
*The proximity to the afghan border and vulnerability to counter-strikes as well as attacks by islamic fundamentalist groups which have a large presence in pakistan. One of them, the Laskaretoiba has already claimed to have sent 500 highly trained jehadis to protect afghanistan.I’m sure most of the other militant groups would consider pakistan helping the USA as an offence and many have already announced their views. They essentially share the same taliban, afghan psyche.
*Inadequate facilities.
Now,is this current situation good or bad for pakistan?Pakistan could have sanctions lifted and equipment supplied but could also face a massive attack from afghanistan which would result in heavy losses for them and drain their resources at the time of a horrible economical state.I also heard that pakistan has set some conditions – one of them includes the kashmir issue. Will america comply?
