ABU DHABI [MENL] — Pakistan has resumed a drive to enter the military market in Qatar.
Pakistani and industry sources said Islamabad has offered to sell a range of air, ground and naval platforms and equipment to Qatar’s military. They said Pakistan has also expressed strong interest in purchasing Qatar’s fleet of Mirage 2000-5 fighter-jet fleet.
“Qatar has made enormous progress in recent years and we want to contribute towards Qatar’s development,” Pakistani Chief of Staff Gen. Ihsan Al Haq said.
Al Haq has been conducting a four-day visit to Qatar in which he discussed a range of military cooperation. He said Pakistan has sought to embark on defense and military joint ventures.
