Does anyone know the fate of the Pakistan Halifax bombers? They were withdrawn from the air force in 1955? Wonder if there is anything still around?
Thanks for a great story on the Halifax Flypast editorial team!!!

Peter,
I contacted someone on the Pakistani History website sometime ago but he told me that he didn’t know of any surviving bits and pieces. Although there are some rumours about an airframe in either Pakistan or Afghanistan.
Would be nice if something turns up
Cheers

Later on, in 1954 the aircraft were transferred to long-term storage, from where they were disposed of as salvage. It’s a pity that when Pakistan Air Force inaugurated its Museum at Karachi, not a single component of the Halifax bomber was available for display or record.
