So Mrs TT was in California last week, seeing her sister and she drops in here- somewhere I’ve always wanted to go and sends me these pics…grrr π‘ π
Looks like a great collection, including Spit, Tigercat, Goose, B-17 and many more and an ex-Lake Michigan SBD…. she even found a ‘cobra with her bame on it (Polly…!)
So as she dragged her sister round and took me the pics the most important question is….. – should I marry her? π
TT
P.S.
if anyone reading works for Palm Springs, thanks for looking after the two English lasses….the one who asked where your Beech and T-6 was is Mrs TT…
conversation ran thus:
Mrs TT ‘do you have a T-6?’
Staff Member (impressed) ‘yes ma’am over there’ (pictured)….’
Mrs TT ‘ no I said a T-6 not an SNJ….’
I’m so proud…. :D)

Strewth Ben what a gal! Any lady who can tollerate an aviation nut is one in a million ….one who can understand an aviation nut is one in a zillion ….one who can tell the diff between a T-6 and an SNJ is priceless!!!!! Marry her without delay young man. π
My better half occasionally reminds me that when on our honeymoon nearly 30 years ago I whisked her onto an aircraft carrier out in the Med. … aviation offers so many opportunities for shared experiences! π

…and until Sunday Mrs TT had not Aviated – her first flight was the last one made by an Utt Butt Stearman, followed 40 mins later by an inverted return in a Cap.10 Thanks to a certain Mr Richards!

Marry her TT !
I visited Palm Springs in February – great docents (guides) – chatted for ages to a vetran B17 pilot and his wife. Miss Angela is in great condition even has carpet in the cockpit!, and a very interesting ‘air stair’ rear entry door.
They also had a DC3 which looked like it had seen better days but IIRC was due to fly to chino at the time for some work.
Chino’s flying wing was also visiting when I was there.
Is that really G-FIRE??
I have some more pics of the place if anyone is interested.
…….On another note, if I hadn’t had visited Palm Springs museum my other half would not have applied for a job (unfortunately unlike Mrs TT she doesnβt like planes – so she sat in the car doing a job application!) which she got and we are now here βdown underβ… the rest is history!

Youv’e got a woman who knows the difference between a t6 and an snj (actually I don’t) ,and you have to ask whether you should marry her?
About six inches, I think (WINGSPAN! Wash your mind out!).
But yes – what sort of damn fool question is that in the circumstances? If you need to ask that, TT, you need to… to… to… ask yourself why you haven’t already done so!
