Are these spares or has reclamation of these old warriors started?

The owner told me he wanted £16200.for the Griffon.
Definitly not cheap!!!

being realistic, my perception is prices will be high, and i am sure buying them, shipping them there etc etc was not cheap so i am sure they owe the owner quite a lot, also having spent a fair bit of time in Cyprus a place i love dearly the Cypriots love to haggle, ideally such business would be best conducted with a glass or two of ouzo, or various Keo brand drinks (which can cause amnesia if incorrectly adminitered 🙁 ) and the odd coffee or two not to mention maybe a mezzee sounds more appealing than sitting on the 16:53 to Ashford Inernational as i type this 🙁

Why does’nt he just post the prices in the first place? In my line of work if something is marked up people can still look and walk away.. but if its reasonable and catches there eye then you have a better chance of making a sale rather than them thinking “hmmm, bet thats expensive”.!

Those props look rough no use to anyone now shame
The good news is Southern Cyprus is in the EU so no import duty if you do buy anything.
I think those Radary bits would probably be confiscated as the tubes will probably set off Radiation detectors.
Anyone know any prices of this stuff ?
Hi Junk Collector. Last things first; contact Marios Ioannou, tell him what you are interested in and ask what the price is. Many of the photographs on the website are taken with enlargement in mind so that you can see some of the details.
Unfortuneately the props have circumbed to the ravages of time and there is clearly visable crystaline corrosion. They are not in a condition where they could be turned with any safety, but think of a pair of contra-rotating props on the front of your house or down at the local flying club!!! I think that they are ‘static’ savalagable with a bit of rubbing down, application of suitable filler, black gloss paint and helpings of TLC.
I cannot comment on your observation regarding the ‘radary’ bits. Maybe?
Happy hunting!

They look to have been sitting in the open for a long time. Scrap value only most of it 🙁

For those interested in Shackleton parts, I have just returned from Cyprus where I met with the now owner, Marios Ioannou. He has now launched a new website www.cyprusshackletonparts.com.

Never mind Parcel Force, Ethernet has lost two of my messages so far.

wonder what Parcel Farce would charge to post a Griffon 🙂 I bet they could lose something that big

I think they are spares bought with the aircraft on the intial thought of operating one of these mighty warriors over the skies of Cyprus!
