This event has been advertised locally but I can’t find out any details other than Sally B will be appearing. Does anyone have any more info on what’s going on, any other aircraft involved, and maybe some idea of times?
Many thanks

Sadly, we didn’t make it in the end, but we were treated to a flyby by Sally with the 2 Mustangs in a very good formation. This was over Southern Ipswich (obviously) at about 2.05pm so must have been on the way in to Parham. Great to see. James (13months – wow it’s gone so fast) got very excited and even the Mrs (usually a total non-aviation person) was impressed.
Sadly, I suspect that most people would assume it was the BBMF and I’m amazed that nobody has yet asked me what the Lancaster and 2 Spitfires were doing on Sunday!!!
Cheers
Willow
P.S. Actually, I thought the formation was as good if not better than the usual BBMF

Mine was the green one!!! 😀
Sorry, couldn’t help myself. It was the the one named ‘Jessie’, in 100th BG markings with the wooden ‘Field Mod’ side doors. See attached.

Which was your Jeep? I must have a pic of it somewhere.

I had my jeep in the convoy and had a fantastic weekend. We visited Debach, Thorpe Abbotts, Horham, Metfield, Leiston, Hardwick and of course based at Parham for the three days. Here’s one or two pics from the weekend.

🙂 Went for a couple of hours, missed arrival of convoy but great collection of vehicles.
Usual polished display by Sally B, Rob Davies and Maurice Hammond – lots of local “casual” visitors really got their money’s worth.
Some very impressive low passes over the wheat fields towards the tower.
The museum is superb and well worth a visit.
Let’s hope next year the windfarm won’t have intervened and we’ll see Sally B and Liberty Belle over Parham.

So did anybody go? It was a great day by all accounts. We certainly enjoyed their visit to a rather damp Hardwick on Saturday, it was an incredible site to see a convoy of 60 or so military vehicles snaking their way up the track past the nissen huts of the 93rd Bomb Group Museum.

Another of Suffolks great little events. Mainly on the ground but with the added buzz mentioned above.
A Wind Farm now has permission to be built here so this may be your last opportunity to see aircraft overhead at Parham.

Its all part of a military vehicle weekend including a tour of different bases by the vehicles culminating in a bash at Parham on Sunday, as Ewan says you may well see a few interesting aircraft.

I reckon if you were to be there between 1400 and 1500 on Sunday, you just might see the B17 and 2 P-51s…..
