Hi,
Are any of you thinking of going along to the Paris Air Show in the Spring?
Myself and A330Crazy have decided that we will be attending the event at Le Bourget Airport on the 18th and 19th June. We hope to spend a day at the show and another day at Charles-de-Gaulle.
We hope to fly with Air France from Heathrow with a ticket costing about £69. For £1 less than that is British Airways and for another £1 less there is bmi. What makes us want to go with Air France is the aircraft providing the return flight – an A318! 😎
So, is anyone else interested in joining us or are any of you likely to be there on one of the public days?

I’ll be wearing my vest and shorts – it’s gonna be a hot weekend! Perfect sunshine over both days with 30C on Saturday and a much nicer 32C on Sunday!

You guys who are going, if you will bother go into the trade stands, look out for Huddlestone Engineering, they “could” be on the NI stands somewhere.
Thats the company my aunt’s family owns with my Aunt the Managing director, and they do parts for Bombardier in Belfast and Blackpool!

I’ve PM’d my number to T5 and if anyone else wishes to exchange contact numbers for the trip, I suggest you either PM them to myself or T5.
So far I’ve got A330 Crazy’s and DME’s numbers.
And also, having looked at the weekend weather forecast may I suggest stocking up on sun protection and water supplies for the long hot afternoons outdoors. 😀
I’m wearing my normal long johns, duffel jacket material shirt, beret and giraffe skin coat – GHETTO :p

Any ideas for the best place for pictures of the planes? Are the stands worth the 10€?

Must get some mobile numbers swapped around?
Yup, a quick meet sounds like fun.
I’ve got numbers for EGNM (assuming it is still the same one as you have me back in March?) and also for A330Crazy. As far as I know, A330Crazy has Ren Frew’s number and I’ll be travelling with him.
When I have a few minutes to spare tomorrow, I’ll quickly PM you all my number anyhow.

Just returned from Paris and have to say that the show is the poorest ever , there were 4 of us there including a couple of guys who have been going for 20 years and they were hugely disappointed ,there are far too many mock-up aircraft exhibited nowadays IMO!

The website for booking your tickets is utter crap!
It has the option to put it into English, which I have clicked. Unfortunately, they haven’t bothered to change the countries drop-down menu, so I don’t know which is the UK despite looking through it hundreds of times.
As a result of this, I cannot book my tickets at the moment! 😡
Can anyone help?
You are right, they haven’t translated the country drop-down menu.
You should select Royaume-Uni (which is there, I checked)!!!!!

Hmm, not sure, then. I couldn’t find the list, and don’t remember choosing a country when I ordered my tickets. Ah well… sorry for not being of more help.

Grand-Bretagne should be the listed name (for Great Britain). If not, Angleterre (England).
I might just be a little stupid, but I’m sure that wasn’t on the list?
Today is the last day for online ticket purchases anyway, so I’ll now be buying on the day.
Thanks for the help anyhow 🙂

Those travelling to Paris over the weekend – what day are you going to the show? Saturday or Sunday?
Friday evening and Saturday, or, if I’m unlucky, just Saturday.

I believe you can just buy tickets on the gate.
Correct. that’s the easiest way I guess. I never saw a big line.

Does anyone think that buying the tickets with seats in the stand for the air show is worth it? Does it put you much closer to the action, and does it improve photography?
