Excellent stuff!
I expect this letter will come in handy for a lot of photographers thinking about going to Paris.
Would the ID card cover me at other paris airports? I’m thinking about Orly, and Le Bourget mainly.
Many Thanks!
I’m happy to help you all guys 😉
About Orly , I heard you won’t get problems at all for the instance , let’s hope it stays this way and the document also counts for Le Bourget altough I don’t know if it’s forbidden there to photograph/spot 😎

PS Why Dont they let you take pictures at CDG? 😮

The Aeroportes de Paris enforce a prefectoral degree, enforced with a fine of 450 Euros for anyone caught shooting without authorisation, this came in about 2 years ago, for no other reason than to cut down the amount of spotters/photographers hanging around fences (the old “security” excuse) basically, a jobs worth thought, “i’ll get some brownie points off my boss by banning photographers” .
Excellent job reproducing the letter,Fabke. FWIW another way around the ban is to join Kerozen association, who have signed a prefectoral agreement with ADP that lets their members carry on about their business.

I join to this request, a photocopy of my national indentity card.

Ooh god, I remember again why I hated French class at college. Scariest of it all is that I can read and understand what you wrote! Guess I shall have to contact my French teached from yesteryear and collect the winnings from our wager! 😉

Top notch shots 🙂 Nice variety of traffic.
Looks intimidating to take photos at CDG though 😮
By: fabke - 15th April 2007 at 15:28
Thanks guys for the nice comments 😀 , taking photos at CDG is strictly forbidden except if you have a written permission , I have been checked 2 times by military people and have been asked to show my ID-card and the permission , they were very friendly with me but I don’t know what happens if you don’t have the needed document
These boards can be found all around the airport on the fence , I took all photos from the parallel taxiways in front of the Sofitel hotel and at the meteo station , didn’t get problems at all , getting airborne shots isn’t that easy as CDG is a big airport and it’s very difficult to park you car near the fences…
If someone needs info on how getting this document , I can send you a copy of my written letter 😉

Did you not get any Gendarmes with big pointy machine guns chasing you off??:D Are they still issuing the 450 euro fine?
I was about to ask the same question… I thought photography had been banned within the environs of CDG ?
Anyhow… A great selection, I love CDG !
By: Tartan Pics - 14th April 2007 at 23:13
Brilliant stuff,Fabke.
Don’t like what they have done with the concorde 😡
