I must admit that it is horrendous. And it is becoming a big problem.
The other night, my father and I were waiting at the bus stop outside NCL for 1 hour and 25 minutes until we went to pick up my brother. And to our horror there was cars parked along all the roads leading into NCL and on the edges of the roundabout.
I know that parking at the bustop probably seems like a bad idea, but it was only because we didn’t want to pay money for waiting with the current state of NCL’s parking and the fact that it takes them hours to reunite people with baggage.
NCL needs to sort out this problem because sooner or later it’s going to cause a massive problem which could unfortunately end up in someone’s death.

Never mind car parking, the apron is going to be a tight tonight. I think a 747 from Madrid has positioned in to fly for Monarch to Sanford in the morning.
Operated the Monarch flight to POP

Confirmed.
You never know they may just park the late night arrivals southside.

Was he or you told why? Very strange
Nope. I rung my brother 50 minutes after he landed and he said ” No bags have came up yet “

As someone who uses the parking at Newcastle International 4days a week I often cringe at the lengths some people will go to avoid paying a 50p drop off fee or a few quid to park safely and conveniently
50P???????????
Come To Bristol!
They have recently built a small pick up area / short term car park – The min charge is something like £2.50.
My GF dropped me off at LHR T3 and waited for me to go through secruity. An hour there cost her (well me really) a whopping £12!!! Ridiculous!!!
It is a shame, a big shame that it is always like this is at many airports around the country. Some airports just dont make it easy for the driver and car – Or are out to make money! Putting their business and money making schemes before the safety of the public.

Best place to park mate is the car park of the badger pub just round the corner plus you can get a pint while your waiting hehe

Well, I did tell him not to park there. And we went up 10 minutes after my brother landed and thought he would get out, but it turns out NCL took 1 hour and 40 minutes to re-unite people with baggage.
I have wrote to NCL in the past and so far i’ve seen nothing done. So I really do hope that with the current talk amongst the grapevine of improved parking facilities it will increase safety amongst the public and passengers who travel in and around NCL.
I know that parking at a bustop seems to be a bad idea, but we were NOT expecting to stay there for nearly two hours.
I personally believe it’s all ludacris.

What will ultimately cause someones death, as you point out, is people parking around the roundabouts and entrance roads to the airport and in bus stops because people are too damn tight to pay to park at the airport.
As someone who uses the parking at Newcastle International 4days a week I often cringe at the lengths some people will go to avoid paying a 50p drop off fee or a few quid to park safely and conveniently. It was just Friday last week that some tosser in a four wheel drive pulled off the grass outside of the Britannia hotel right infront of my car and narrowly missed me.
Newcastle International are I believe in a “car parking transition” at the minute, upgrading short and long stay parking across the airport. Needless to say, the income generated from charging people to pickup and drop off right outside of the airport is probably playing a huge part in the development. However, where else do drivers have the god given right to park right outside of a building of similar size?
Shopping Centres? Supermarkets? Train Stations? -particuarly if in city centre locations all have exactly the same issues here.
If you want to shout about saving lives heslop tell your dad not to park in a bus stop, this act was mindless in itself. And like Adam says, contact NIAL and the local authority to voice any concerns you have – however hyped and overrated they may be.

Not being from Newcastle I wouldn’t know what roads and roundabouts you were talking about
Are the above in question within the airport grounds? If so perhaps you should contact the airport about your concern – Or if on roads outside airport property, contact the local council
