Part 2- LHR-IAD (w/a lot of pics)

Part one here, DUB-LHR

Date: April 2nd 2007
Route: LHR-IAD
Airline: United
Flight: UA919
Regisration:N778UA
Seat: 42A
Plane: Boeing 777-222
Load: Approx. 95%
Time: 6:40hours
Delay:40mins.

So, I had said above that I was on a long journey from DUB-LHR-IAD-MYR.

Here is my ride to IAD, my first 777: (N778UA, If any one’s keeping score..)

So we got on the plane, and we headed to our seat. A long walk I must say from door 2L (I think that’s right) to our Seats: 42A 42B….. 😉

We were a tad delayed, 30 mins. Then when we pushed back, and got stuck behind an Air India 744, BA 319,320 etc….. We got eventually to 9R, and wow. Those engines were amazing! 😮 We pulled up and headed on our 6 and a half hour journey to IAD 😀

Was a bit shocked it would take so quick, as the only TA flights I have been on were DUB-SFB-with Monarch (Premium, very good) and Avia Jet (Repressed, too traumatic a flight, uck……….)-which were both nine hours. I settled in and got into the IFE. Not AVOD, even in First, and Premium and Business. I was a bit shocked at this…. I got lunch, Chicken fillet, with potatoes, veg. gravy, cheesecake, the complementary juice or ‘tea or coffee sir?’. One of the nicest meal on a plane since 😀 I watched Blood Diamond which was pretty good (It must have been, I watched it twice :P)

We made towards Halifax. From here-on-in it got a bit bumpy. I stretched the use of bit.

I took these three over Canada:

http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg212/michael_ennis/SL270175.jpg Hi Turbulence 😀

We got into IAD late. And we legged it through security. I was stopped by a female officer. This was the conversation:

Officer:”Excuse me, walk please!”
Me:”Oh sorry. We’re just gonna miss my flight”
Officer:”Connection? UA919 Got in late. Let me see what I can do” *pulls out CV Radio* “Whats your next flight?”
Me:”UA7218, to Myrtle Beach”

She looks at the nearby (huge) departures board.

Officer:”Show me your watch”

Uh oh

Officer:”Son, you aren’t from around here, huh?” She is giggling. “Here let me fix it.” She sets my watch back an hour……….

So with time to spare, I got some photos from the buses (if you would call them that).

This is the plane which should have taken us the rest of the way…. Ill explain next time.
