I have an item that I was convinced was part of a gun turret but after lots of searching discovered it was something completely different. I am curious to see how quickly the forum will be able to id it and how much time I would have saved putting it here in the first place. I’ve been looking at it on and off for about 6 months.
Cheers Paul

Lincoln tailwheel?

I’ve managed to reunite the axle with some of its related parts.

I agree it’s not a perfect match, maybe Lincoln is a bit different. Anyone with another idea?

Not convinced it is a lancaster tailwheel axle..Something just doesn’t look right

It turns out to be a tailwheel axle, I assume the bits on the ends are for picketing the aircraft.

Avro Anson Undercart mount?

Alan is on the money. The NMS stamp is probably from a local Aussie contractor. Peter knows a lot about the aircraft family it’s from.

I’d go for undercarriage part. I’ve not seen NMS on a stamp before.
