Does anybody have an ID on this part? For a forum that can identify bits of battered rust no bigger than a fingernail I’m surprised at the sluggish response thus far.

Clearly it is evidence of exciting developments in the Congo space program!

hi,
just out of curiosity I went on the EMA web trak and at 1630 over Hinckley as said in the report(?), their was a S.76 G-XXEB at 1628.50 at 4,300ft, and a Thomson B.737 at 1631, at 9400ft, also a light a/c heading from EMA skirted Hinckley but went to Sapcote…

There is a suggestion in the news today that some of the Russian cruise missiles have fallen short of their targets.

Could it be the debris from a failed backyard experiment? Someone playing at making a turbine or rocket and BANG! Bits get airbourne and come down a couple of streets away.

No, no, no, no, NO.

That is obviously part of Amelia’s Electra.
She secretly flew to the UK via a time-portal, had jet engines fitted to her aircraft, before returning to her original time and resuming her original course.
I thought everyone knew that?!

No not Spitfire, it’s from a Lancaster, from looking at the photo I can even say it was from 617 Squadron. Should go for quite a bit on eBay!

Soon to be seen on eBay under ‘WW2 Spitfire relic’.

Usual over dramatic reporting !

Piece of space junk maybe ?

No, that looks very much like a combustion chamber from a turbine of some sort. Surely some aircraft had a cockpit warning and in-flight emergency when that exited through the hot section?
