I was given this today – we are pretty certain this is part of a Whitley and guess it held the control cables for the rudders or ailerons…but maybe you know better!
It is approximately 19 inches from end to end and 7.5 inches from highest to lowest point while the central section running from end to end is 3 and 5/8ths of an inch deep.
I’m interested to hear your thoughts on what it is!

Thanks for your prompt reply. It is from 10 Squadron’s Z6477 – there may be other, smaller, parts. I will check.
A now long-retired schoolboy has kept it for the last 74 years and often wondered if its crew survived the war.
We are trying to piece together some more information about this aircraft and its crew but when we are done you are welcome to have it.

Hi Ed – yes, it’s an aileron horn from a Whitley. It belongs on the wing. Is there any history on it? Also, would you consider parting with it?
